Classical Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga comes from two Sanskrit syllables, namely ha and ta. Ha is the sun and ta is the moon. The moon and stars are the greatest sources of energy in the universe as symbols of masculine and feminine heat and cold likes and dislikes that always exist in this life. Then in the practice of Hatta Yoga we will access the energy of the moon and sun and there are three components.

Meditation to calm the mind and train focus, pranayama to align the energy in our body and asana to train the strength and flexibility of our body, and when we do Hatta yoga our body will be healthy holistically.

Restorative Yoga is a gentle, meditative, and passive practice that focuses on deep relaxation to heal and restore the body and mind. Unlike active yoga, it holds simple poses supported by props like pillows, blankets, and blocks for several minutes, helping the nervous system “rest and digest” while reducing stress.

The main characteristics are: focus on relaxation, use of props, long-held poses, parasympathetic nervous system activation, and accessibility to all levels.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, meaning “yogic sleep,” is a deep relaxation technique that guides practitioners into a state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep. It involves guided meditation while lying down, aiming to achieve complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation—unlike typical yoga, which focuses on physical postures.

How Yoga Nidra Works:

  • Relaxation of the body and mind: This practice often uses systematic body scans, breath awareness, and visualization to help the mind focus while the body fully relaxes.
  • Achieving a unique state of consciousness: Yoga Nidra allows the body to enter a state of deep rest without actually sleeping, often referred to as “Non-Sleep Deep Rest” (NSDR).
  • Position: While it can be practiced sitting, the most common position is lying on your back in Shavasana (corpse pose).

Key Benefits:

  • Reduces stress: Helps relieve anxiety and stress, improving overall sleep quality.
  • Improves concentration: Focuses the mind, reduces restlessness, and sharpens mental clarity.
  • Rejuvenates the body: Deep relaxation allows the body to repair, rejuvenate, and detoxify naturally.
